The Monday Morning Memo

Ruth Milligan is the public speaking trainer who was the driving force behind TEDxColumbus where she spent a decade observing good and bad presenters. Today she is helping people improve their presentation skills before large auditorium audiences, intimate groups of employees, and most importantly, customers. Ruth doesn’t tell people what they should talk about. She says that to produce the desired results, what you say is less important than how you say it.

Random Quote:

“I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to have been a child star in movies or in the music business and then age… and age some more.

Imagine getting such a famous start early in life and having a huge fan base following you around not wanting you to get wrinkles or have your ears grow, and there you are, looking in a mirror and trying to make sense of it all.

How lucky am I? As a regular child that was far from famous, no one expected much of me, and as a result I didn’t disappoint them.”
