The Monday Morning Memo

Cloris Leachman is Maw-Maw, a great-great-grandmother who shows signs of Alzheimer’s in the TV sitcom, Raising Hope.

In a recent episode,* the family is trying to think of new inventions when Maw-Maw bursts into the room:

1. “What if we combined the oven with a toaster into one thing?
     An Oven Toaster!”

2. “What about putting hot food into pockets?
     Pocket Hots!”

3. “What about a TV channel just for news?”
     (Maw-Maw puts her hand to her head as she thinks for a moment,
     then says,) “Wait. They’ll have to fill up too many hours and resort
     to sensationalizing non-issues and stirring up partisan bickering.
     Scratch that idea. It sucks.”

* ”Bro-gurt” season 2, episode 8, FOX
