We see those
same dark orange tones in this Lou Witkin painting
of Quixote from 1949. I asked the wizard why he bought it.
He said, “Indy, have you ever heard of any artist, anywhere,
who imagined Sancho Panza as an elf and perceived Rocinante
to be such an important character that he gave the horse people-shoes
on all four feet? Witkin has him walking on his hind legs in pants!
How could I not buy such a painting? I am required to buy such paintings.”
I have learned to just nod my head in agreement
when the wizard talks this way.
Princess Pennie taught me how.
