The Monday Morning Memo

RobinGoodfellow_Titania_July2

July2PlayBYou may remember that we’re planning on building an amphitheater down by Engelbrecht House to host our own plays, musical performances, and impromptu soapbox monologues by adventurous students.

We are still going to build that amphitheater, but we just couldn’t wait any longer to hold our first outdoor theater experience!

We will limit our first performance to 40 guests. 40 is the number of people we can fit in the dining room at the Tower.

You will be treated to dinner, wine, a short presentation, and an exclusive outdoor theater experience viewed from the patio of the tower.

We will be converting the woods behind the dining room into a stage for a one-time performance of “Robin Goodfellow”.

Cost to attend is $100 per person, or you can reserve a table of 8 for $800 and fill it with friends.

Because this is a fundraising event, the alumni discount does not apply.

Roy and Pennie have already reserved one table for their family and friends, so that leaves 4 tables left!

Once the 40 spots are filled, this will be a sold out event!

Random Quote:

“In the Age of Bronze, when a canny few discovered the science of metallurgy, how long did it take them to fashion coins, crowns, and swords? That unholy trinity to which the common man was enslaved for the next one thousand years. Then came the Age of Iron – and with it the steam engine, the printing press, and the gun. Here was very different trinity, indeed. For while these tools had been developed by the Bourgeoisie to further their own interests, it was through the engine, the press, and the pistol that the Proletariat began to free itself from labor, ignorance, and tyranny.”

- A Gentleman in Moscow, p. 85
