The Monday Morning Memo

Cognoscenti Rut Walker looks on as coach Scott Fraser tips a trio of Atlanta musicians as they pluck the stings fantastic. Kyle Caldwell, the captain of this unlikely crew, snapped a photo (as if we would need evidence of the generosity of AcadGrads.) But a mystery greater than the generosity of a Canadian is, “What was Scott Fraser, from 62 miles northwest of Halifax, Nova Scotia, doing so very far from home?”

Scott will be in Austin soon to conduct the Young Writers Workshop with Peter Nevland. If you have a child or grandchild between 12 and 16, you should DEFINITELY be here for that.

Kyle and Rutland will be here October 4 for the unveiling of Carricula Road, that majestic, below-ground entrance to the library tower at Wizard Academy. The installation of the Jane DeDecker monuments, the placement of the flagstone walking surface, and the landscaping of its 300-ft. length are all that remain to be done. Woo-hoo!
