The Monday Morning Memo

Thank You to the 5 builders of the 5 floors!

The only things left to finish are the bathrooms
(ground level, to the right of the Banquet Room,)
and the
Academy Business Office
(above the bathrooms, on the lecture hall level,
see photo below.) Anyone got $25,000 they can spare?

By the way, that door into the Lion’s Den is 11 feet tall.

Everyone who sees this tower says,
“It’s much bigger than it looks in the photos!”
We’re currently thinking we could be in it around
New Years if people keep signing up for classes.
Cash flow has gotten a better. Thanks.

We just need to put up the walls and the roof on the business office and then that will be the end of construction! All that will be left is the interior. No sweat. We already have the materials.

Yes, you’ll walk into the business office at ceiling height and go down
a series of steps to the office floor about 4 feet beneath you.

It’s a very weird, very cool structure.
We’re anxious for you to see it.

Random Quote:

“‘The way I see it, Google has four core cultural problems. They are all the natural consequences of having a money-printing machine called ‘Ads’ that has kept growing relentlessly every year, hiding all other sins. (1) no mission, (2) no urgency, (3) delusions of exceptionalism, (4) mismanagement.’

Seshadri argued it’s a ‘fragile moment’ for Google, particularly because of the recent pressures it is facing to compete with Microsoft’s artificial intelligence initiatives. Seshadri said Google’s problems are not rooted in its technology, but in its culture.

‘Overall, it is a soft peacetime culture where nothing is worth fighting for. The people who are inclined to fight on behalf of customers or new ideas or creativity soon learn the downside of doing so.’

 “

- Ashley Capoot, reporting an interview with Praveen Seshadri, "Founder who sold his startup to Google says the company has lost its mission, is mismanaged and has no sense of urgency." Feb 15, 2023
