The Monday Morning Memo

Contrary to what I told you, this is not something you can sponsor.
Pennie paid personally for these new embellishments to Tuscan Hall, our largest meeting space. Those of you who have been here will notice the functional wooden shutters that have been added to the upper windows along with the planter boxes. Now we can have natural light or pitch darkness, depending on whether we’re having a discussion or watching something on the 20-foot screen. And of course you noticed the draping and the new chandelier, right? Less obvious are the new electrically-operated 12-foot drapes that let us black out the south wall when it’s time to lower the screen.

Random Quote:

“It’s life or death for America, people tell you. Angry debates about taxes, religion and race relations inflame the newspapers. Everyone is talking politics: your spouse, your teenage daughter, your boss, your grocer. Neighbors eye you suspiciously, pressing you to buy local. Angry crowds gather, smelling of booze and threatening violence; their leaders wink, confident that the ends justify the means. The stores have sold out of guns. It’s 1775 in Britain’s American colonies. Whose side are you on?”
