The Monday Morning Memo

Do you remember what Gabriel Garcia Marquez said?
“If you say that there are elephants flying in the sky, people are not going to believe you. But if you say that there are four hundred and twenty-five elephants flying in the sky, people will probably believe you.”

If you believed there was a chance that Tom Wanek was, in fact, known as “Twinkletoes Tommy,” it was likely because we claimed
it was only “in South Florida.”

Yes, specifics are more believable than generalities.

Even when they’re true.

Remember this, and you will write far more effective ads.

Random Quote:

“The Roosevelts would become, perhaps, the most admired and the most reviled couple ever to occupy the White House. Franklin would be denounced as a dictator, a socialist, a traitor to his class. Eleanor was dismissed as naive, meddling, dangerously radical.”
