PS – notice what Vivian chose for her canvas; not just the side of the barn with all the boards running vertically, but an intersection where different lines and materials come together: vertical, horizontal, diagonal and vegetable.
The ground, with its plants, meets the spot where two buildings join together. There are many, many things to see – overlaid by a shadow with a distinctive hairstyle and narrow shoulders, obviously Vivian Maier. Such choices as these are the reasons she is being hailed as a world-class master who received no recognition during her lifetime.
