Wagner had some pretty weird theology about how blacks were “cursed by God” so he was never popular among African Americans.

I disagree with his theology but I like the rawness of his art.

Albert’s beard was the color of a Siberian sabre-toothed rat…
which makes it impossible for me not to like like him.
