“The Southern Baptist Convention is preparing to vote next month to disfellowship churches that have women serving in any pastoral role.

It feels like another example of what happens when theological systems become obsessed with enforcement.

When every principle becomes a rule, eventually you have sheriffs and not shepherds.

On the other side, Prosperity Theology often turns principles into promises and wisdom into formulas.

“Give this and get that.”

“Speak this and receive that.”

“Sow this and unlock that.”

When the rules become principles, we eventually have salesman instead of shepherds.

The sheriffs and the salesman have ruined American Christianity.

Rules and Principles are not to be confused.

The Bible is filled with both.”
