The Monday Morning Memo

What is feminine beauty? And can it be measured?

These are the questions Max sought to answer in 1932.

Max’s ingenious 1932 invention combined scientific analysis,

phrenology and cosmetics for this unique face-measuring device
which revealed “the perfect face” to be a myth. It enabled Hollywood
make-up artists to quickly pinpoint facial corrections that needed
to be made on actresses to create some of the silver screen’s
most legendary beauties.

This Beauty Calibrator made by Max is the only one
in existence. It’s expected to bring between
$85,000 and $150,000 at auction.

Methinks Max Factor might
have been Wizard Academy’s brand of crazy.

Max had a nutty idea, but according to history, it worked.
