Iceland is much greener than Greenland.
Here’s the deal: when Eric the Red tried to convince his Norse buddies to relocate to this cool new island he found, Iceland, they weren’t too keen on the idea. So he discovered another island and according to the 12th century history book, Eiríks saga rauða (The Saga of Eric the Red,) “He named the land Greenland, saying that people would be eager to go there if it had a good name.”
That’ll teach those doubting Norse buddies. Heh-heh-heh.
